A NEW BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND EXECUTIVE BOARD FOR REMA!

The members of REMA - the European Early Music Network met in Vilnius at the invitation of the Palace of the Grand Dukes, for the network’s annual general assembly and first conference of the year. This gathering was a key moment for REMA, providing a space for members to meet, exchange ideas, and develop new collaborations while addressing pressing issues in the early music sector and shaping the network’s future.
On that occasion, Isabelle Battioni from the Centre culturel de rencontre d'Ambronay (FR), was elected new president of REMA for the next three years.
"For REMA’s 25th anniversary, we are proud of the trust our members have placed in us during the General Assembly in Vilnius on March 13, 2025. As I step into the role of president, succeeding Veerle Declerck, I am deeply aware of the responsibility entrusted to me: to lead a dynamic and growing network, alongside a dedicated board and a passionate team of professionals.
The many voices of the early music sector are coming together, united in their diversity, to tackle the challenges ahead—both individually and collectively—at local, national, and European levels.
Early music is deeply rooted in our time, full of energy and innovation. As a living heritage, it forges connections across time and borders, embodying the values of tolerance and civic engagement. It is a unique ecosystem, with its own economic model, a wealth of professions, and above all, a source of joy and shared experiences."
REMA extends its gratitude to Veerle Declerck for her dedication and leadership over the past years, during which the network has strengthened its international presence and expanded its initiatives.
The newly elected Executive Board is composed of:
- Isabelle Battioni, Centre culturel de rencontre d’Ambronay (France) - President
- Richard Heason, The Music Summer School and Festival (UK) - Vice-President
- Susanna Bucher, Fondazione ICONS (Italy) - Vice-President
- Aliye Cornish Moore, Irish Baroque Orchestra (Ireland)- Treasurer
- Johannes Rantanen, Sastamala Gregoriana (Finland) - Secretary
