MUSICA ANTIGUA GIJON - Spain

The Festival de Música Antigua de Gijón is characterised by maintaining a balance between the programming of concerts and the organisation of courses and workshops related to these repertoires, with the participation of both national and international artists. In addition, it also promotes different types of initiatives related to works, historical instruments, early dances, organology, lutherie, musicological research and music therapy applications, as well as other lines of action, including the organisation of the International Early Music Competition, a unique event on the national scene in this field.
On the other hand, and to complement the educational offer of the festival, the Early Music Academy was created in 2009, a programme which includes theoretical-practical classes, informative talks as well as musical exhibitions and recitals.
