CONTINUUM (The Music Bakery e.V.) - Germany

In the last three years, Continuum has made increased efforts to concretise its artistic vision and sharpen its profile. The creative approach to baroque works has taken on a particular significance. In these projects, it was specifically a matter of placing standard works of the baroque period, such as Bach's St. John Passion, Monteverdi's L'Orfeo and Vespers, the B minor Mass and the St. Mark Passion, in a contemporary context. The explicit aim is to find a new approach to the well-known material on the basis of historical performance practice, to present it either with contemporary works, within concert formats or in arrangements with unusual instruments. The aim is to get to know the material much more intensively, to revise and question the usual performance practices of the past decades.
