CCR Ambronay - a musical journey through 17th century France

From next September, you will be able to register for the MOOC Voyage musical dans la France du 17e siècle / Musical journey through France in the 17th century. The aim? To discover the music of this period by travelling to the places where it resonated!

Don't worry, there are no requirements to follow this adventure! Let yourself be guided! We will tell you about court ballet, the birth of French opera, the great festivities of Versailles, the “Leçons de Ténèbres” (literally “lessons of darkness”) in convents, and a thousand other little-known facts…

Sébastien Daucé and Saskia De Ville wrote this course with Théodora Psychoyou and Cécile Davy-Rigaux, expert musicologists in the music of that time. We also invited other researchers to contribute to this project co-produced by the Louvre Museum, Sorbonne University, the Correspondances ensemble and the Ambronay Cultural Encounter Center.

See you soon to dive into this fascinating musical universe together!
