London Festival of Baroque Music 2018
You're invited to the Palace of Versailles to explore the treasures of the Grand Siècle. Explore the music that accompanied Louis XIV's court, from his daily devotions to the grand spectacles of the ballet de cour. Curated by Sébastien Daucé, this year's festival features La Nuova Musica with Iestyn Davies, Vincent Dumestre and Le Poème Harmonique, and Daucé's own Ensemble Correspondances. The festival concludes with Daucé's critically acclaimed recreation of the iconic Ballet de la nuit (1653), imagining the moment when Louis XIV danced as the Sun King.
