GOfBaroque: stargazing with the EUBO
Wednesday 28 November, 9pm, AMUZ
GOfBaroque is on a roll - AMUZ and EUBO join forces in this European Cultural Heritage programme to introduce baroque music to a broad public. Under Lars Ulrik Mortensen, EUBO references music from one of the most magnificent baroque spectacles ever staged, in Dresden in 1719: Festival of the Planets, or Constellatio Felix,. Programme focuses on Sun (Lully Phaeton), Stars (Muffat Propitia Sydera ‘Lucky Stars’) and Planets (Entrées for Jupiter, Venus and Mercury by Rameau) and features Telemann’s violin concerto, written specifically for Pisendel to play at the Festival (here performed by Mayah Kadish). Before the concert in AMUZ on 28 November, EUBO will enthuse pupils with interactive introductions to baroque music and the working of a baroque orchestra. EUBO’s tour continues with performances at fellow REMA members’ venues in St John’s Smith Square (30/11) and Pavia (1/12).
