Brighton Early Music Festival is going digital - BREMF@home
23 October to 1 November
The UK’s premier autumn early music festival Brighton Early Music Festival is going digital this year, with BREMF@home - 10 specially created events screened on YouTube and Facebook between 23 October and 1 November. Each film will remain online for 7 days after the premiere for viewing flexibility around the world.
Highlights include:
· chamber versions of Mendelssohn’s Overture to a Midsummer Night’s Dream and Beethoven’s Pastoral Symphony with REMA Showcase participants Pocket Sinfonia;
· trio sonatas by Handel, Geminiani and Corelli performed by Ensemble Augelletti in a 15th century barn in rural Sussex;
· medieval songs of protest with new animations of medieval images from Joglaresa
· an introduction to the trumpet marine - a towering 2 metre high instrument saved from extinction by The Society of Strange and Ancient Instruments.
