Academia CdM 2020 - Il Festino by Banchieri
    14 - 18 January
    Valencia (SPAIN)

For the third consecutive year a group of young performers will get a closer look to the working method of the Spanish group Capella de Ministrers. The resulting ensemble and singers will offer several concerts in Valencia performing and dramatizing ‘Il Festino’ by Adriano Banchieri, a madrigal comedy published in 1608 which reflects forward-thinking ideas on music and art such as a great influence of the Commedia dell’arte and the new experiments in opera.

    Concert dates:
17th January 19.30h - Chapel of Wisdom in La Nau (University of Valencia)
18th January 19.00h - Church of S. Mary in Requena (Valencia)
2nd July 22.00h - Festival Renaixement in Sant Miquel dels Reis Monastery (Valencia)

    Chez Bach
    Bruges Concertgebouw-BE

    15 - 19 janv. 2020

The 8th edition of the Valletta Baroque Festival will again feature top-notch artists, both from Malta and abroad, performing wonderful music from Monteverdi to Bach and beyond. Just like last year the festival will explore beautiful baroque settings outside Valletta, such as Verdala Palace or the beautiful San Filippu ta' Aggira Parish Church of Żebbuġ,

Some of the highlights this year are the opening concert at Teatru Manoel with the renowned orchestra Les Musiciens du Louvre and Vivica Geneaux directed by Thibault Noally bringing music by Porpora and Handel (10 January); Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater at the Kuncizzjoni Immakulata (Parish Church) in Bormla by Abchordis Ensemble (18 January); the Bach concertos by the young French and already renowned Ensemble Dynastie (23 January) and the concert at St Johns Co-Cathedral by La Grande Chapelle performing music written for Infanta Isabella Clara Eugenia.
