7 to 14 July - Miercurea Ciuc Early Music Festival

The Miercurea Ciuc Early Music Festival, which has become an integral part of the summer events in Transylvania, takes place between 7–14 July 2019. The current edition of the festival is a part of the series of events celebrating the 390th anniversary of Joannes Kájoni’s birth, and honours the legacy of the Franciscan monk, composer, organist, botanist, architect, printer and book publisher. This year's program will feature a number of international collaborative music projects, with young performers and returning Transylvanian and Hungarian ensembles. The events – concerts, street music, performances, children's programmes – take place in many locations of the town.
